fruit salad

For summer use:

diced fresh peaches, plums, strawberries and melons

For winter use:

diced grapefruit, oranges, apples, avocado. 

fruit salad dressing

1 c. sugar or honey
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 c. vinegar
1 1/2 c. salad oil (vegetable oil)
1 tablespoon dry mustard
2 teaspoons poppy seeds

Combine sugar, salt and vinegar in a sauce pan, heat
over low heat until sugar dissolves. If using honey, 
skip preceding step. Pour dissolved sugar into a quart jar, add 
salad oil, onion, mustard and poppy seeds, shake to mix. 
Refrigerate. Shake before serving. Makes about 2 1/2 cups. 
Spoon over fresh fruit salad.
