potato pone bread

2 c cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
3/4 stick butter or margarine, melted
1/2 c dark brown sugar
1/4 c molasses
1 c buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 c self-rising cornmeal
1 c self-rising flour
1 t allspice
1 t vanilla
1/2 c raisins
1 minibottle dark rum (optional)

Preheat oven to 325. In a bowl mix together the potatoes, 
butter and brown sugar. Add the molasses, buttermilk and eggs. 
Mix well. Mix together the cornmeal, flour and allspice and 
combine with the potato mixture. Add the vanilla, raisins and rum, 
mixing well. Pour the batter into a 9x9 baking pan. Bake for 
1 hour or until brown.
